Christmas at the zoo

After the morning activities we decided to pack up and head down to Indianapolis for their Christmas at the zoo activites. For only the month of December they have the zoo open in the afternoon and evenings with the whole place decorated with lights!! It was really neat and we were able to see alot of the animals that don't mind the cold weather along with all the indoor animals. It was chilly but we all bundled up with our coats, hats, and gloves...and the girls had blankets wrapped around them in the stroller! It was funny because usually when you go to the zoo in the summer the animals are just lying around but it's a whole different story in the winter! We saw zebras jumping and chasing one another around, lions up walking, and walruses playing with each other like I've never seen before!! We also got to ride the holiday train and ride the carousel both in lights. In the indoor garden area they had the Indiana Rail Road's Holiday Trainland set up throughout the entire gardens. Tons and tons of train set running throughout with towns and different scenes set up within. It was alot of fun and quite a different feeling to be at a zoo after dark and wearing coats!
