Wisconsin Dells family vacation

The first week in June we took a family vacation to the Wisconsin Dells.  We took there girls up there to the Wilderness Resort 3 years ago and they have been begging to go back ever since.  This resort is awesome and has 8 total waterparks...4 indoor and 4 outdoor....so plenty to do.  Unfortunately the week we went a cold front decided to come stick around so the temperatures for us never out of the 60's most of the week and it rained a couple of days but we made the most of it and were able to do everything we had hoped to.

We broke the trip up on the way there by stopping overnight in Schaumburg Illinois.  We stayed near a huge mall that we walked around and ate at the Rainforest Cafe.

The next afternoon we arrived at our resort.  Here is the view from our condo balcony at one of the outdoor waterparks.

Yes even Saige came with us and remembered to bring her swimsuit and sunglasses! =)

The last time we went to a waterpark last summer the girls were both deathly afraid of the dumping buckets in the play areas for some reason.  By the end of the trip they started warming up to them but it took way too long.  So this trip I told the girls that they had to go under the bucket first thing when we got there or we were going back home! =)  So here both girls are waiting to be dumped on by the bucket!

The resort has a HUGE playplace that's about 3 stories of exploring fun!  3 years ago the girls were too little to go in by themselves without fear of them getting stuck or lost so this time it was so nice to just let them go explore by themselves!

We learned that each morning there was a duck race at one of the indoor waterpark lazy rivers.  It was fun as each child got to pick out a duck that they would write their name on and they got to keep their duck.  Then they had 4 races with 3 winners each.  The second morning Keira's duck was one of the winners.

Here are the ducks coming down the river.

The first full day we were there was the only day with full sunshine so we took advantage of it by spending our time at the outdoor waterparks.  Here are the girls going down the slides together.

This slide was one of Addisyn's favorites the last time we were here but Keira was too small.  Addisyn is my adventurous one when it come to waterslides where Keira is the timid one.  So when Keira said she wanted to try this I was hesitant.  All 4 of us went together and I must admit this one got my tummy a little on the way down and once I got to the bottom I turned around to see Keira come down expecting her to be in tears.  I was wrong...she loved it and wanted to go again and again.  I was very proud of her as she got more and more brave on this trip!

Here she is with Daddy at the end of the slide

One evening we went minature golfing at Pirate's cove.  Here the girls are making their best pirate face! =)

We love golfing!

Another evening we went to the Tommy Bartlett ski show...it was a very neat show!!

They have the show twice a day rain or shine!  I felt VERY sorry for these girls as it was raining that night and only in the low 60's!  Cool show though!

More waterpark fun!

In the wave pool

Are we waterlogged yet?

Another family favorite ride

We found this fun resuraunt where a train brings you your food...the girls loved it

The rain stopped long enough for us on our last day to get a horse wagon ride.  I love how even the horse looked at the camera for the picture! =)

Addisyn and I did the rope climbing course.  Addisyn and Jim tried it at the waterpark last year so I got to try it this time.

Smiles on our faces even high up

We didn't run into this guy last time so Keira was SOOOO excited when she found him

We of course had to take a ride on the Wisconsin Ducks!  We did this last time we were here...it's fun the vehicles go both on land and water.

The girls on the Duck

On our way home we stopped in Milwaukee to the zoo.

We like this zoo as it has some really cool animals you don't find at many zoos like elephants, jaguars and hippos

The girls got to touch sting rays

Then we ended our day by enjoying a sea lion and seal show

A fun trip for sure!!!  Keira has already begun asking when we're going back to the waterpark....oh boy! =)
