Since we have a BIG trip planned for this fall we decided to just do some small things throughout the summer. Last summer Jim and I visited Clifty Falls State Park and fell in love with the trails and waterfalls they had there. We have wanted to take the girls there ever since so we took off one Friday evening and headed half way to Indy then Saturday morning headed to Clifty Falls to spend the day.
Love when strangers offer to take a picture for you so everyone can be in the picture! =) Here we are on one of the trails next to one of the waterfalls in the background.
The girls really enjoyed hiking this time! They're growing up!
LOVE these 3 people!
Keira wanted to imitate the Statue of Liberty!
Another picture with a waterfall in the background
This rock is called "Cake Rock"
Having fun on the trails
The girls enjoyed taking their shoes off and playing in the creek for awhile!
The last trail we did was one along the creek bed which was pretty narrow at times but we had fun trying it out!
This is what it looked like once we got to the end of the creek bed. One of the waterfalls was just around the bend so you couldn't go any farther but this shows how big the rocks were getting at the end of the trail. The girls were in their element climbing over them!
The next day we headed to the Indy zoo which the girls know as the zoo where you can touch the sharks! =)
LOVE when the animals come up close to you! Here's the interactive Walrus!
One of the only zoos we get to see elephants at close by!
Getting ready to ride the "mini" roller coaster
They have a new orangutan exhibit this summer! If you look closely you can see an orangutan way up high climbing along the ropes! Pretty neat to watch!
